SREB Doctoral Scholar and University of Alabama student, Territa Poole, participated in the University of Alabama graduate school's Three Minute Thesis (3MT).
3MT is a research communication competition that challenges masters and Ph.D. students to present a speech on their topic and its significance in three minutes. It develops, academic, presentation and research communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to explain their research to a non-specialist audience. Poole won third place for her ideas on the way confusion impacts learning outcomes in different people. Poole was inspired to research student educational interactions because of watching her children experience difficulties in the classroom. Her award includes a $500 scholarship and $200 research and travel stipend.
